I know when my wife, Wendy,--a quiet and gentle person--senses the Fathers prompting I need to listen very carefully and if it's a difficult topic for me to hear, I should really dig in deep. I love the way scripture can draw out so many different aspects of our Fathers character. Reminds me of how as husbands we should always take great stock in our praying wives intuition! Just makes us remember that all of us are vulnerable to the enemies attacks and it's only by the grace of God, not our own abilities (I'm sure Job was a very talented and able person) that we continue to be protected from the worst the enemy has to throw at us. You are right - Jesus is willing to take action in our life to give us the promise that he died for if we only will submit to him by responding to his call. It is that easy and that hard. It is a battle of our will over his perfect will. I pray God gives us all eyes to see the truth. IT's hard for me to feel the pressure, if you will, to be vigilant in telling others about Jesus or even to be willing to die for Him. That level of awareness is not there. I have been reading about some missionaries to my kids these last few weeks and I just feel like a total failure in this area. God used people like Nate Saint. They did so much for God in their lives, and died for Him too. I watched the end of the spear last year and I was so angry that God allowed those "family men" to die for some murderers. I realized later that this was of course a wrong way to look at it. Nate Saint and Jim Eliot and the others all brought their message to these people, even after their deaths. I know we can't all be Nate Saint, but our hearts should be just as committed to Jesus as theirs were. Great post! It’s so true. It’s all about Him! I need to keep that in mind all the time. Something may seem crazy to us or to others. It may not be what we expected, or THOUGHT we wanted… but in the end it’s all for His glory.

I’ve found time and time again that what I THOUGHT I wanted, pails in comparison to what God gives me when I seek and desire only His will. Many time it takes being looked at by others as a bit crazy, but we need to live a life worthy of our calling. (Eph 4:1-16)

You should continue. Ebed Melech is "servant king" a form of Christ delivering a prophet from despair. I have been reading Jeremiah since 2000. Back then it was "if my people will humble themselves and pray..." then after 911 it went slowly into "You won't win this war against Babylon.." then last year to "don't fast and pray anymore for this nation, they go to the sword, famine, pestilence..." I get ch 34 a lot now, I just don't know what it means, who are the slaves? Set the captives free, Loose the bonds of wickedness... I guess we have failed to do the work we were called to do. So now we see war escalate, food prices soar, and pestilence...the bird flu comes? I am sad for the judgement raging on the land. There will be no revival, no turning. But later, after the one world goverment is implemented and our freedoms are gone, we will hang our harps by the rivers of Babylon and weep.... This is a good thing you are doing.
