Isaiah 54 has some rather encouraging and motivational words in it. God tells his children to “Think big….don’t be afraid…..don’t hold back”. Never think that the God we serve is a small planner. He has big plans for us and wants us to achieve and really make things happen. He has given us life and all that we need to live it in a big way. Do you limit what you could do because you don’t think big? Sometimes we let our own abilities determine how we think. We let our own limited resources drive us into fear. We let the circumstances around us hold us back from going all out for God. But God is not limited. He owns it all, He can enable us completely. I love what Andy Stanley says about living large: “If God originates it, God will orchestrate it”. God is not limited in any way and if we are walking with Him in His will, we will not be limited either. We just need to have faith and get after it.
God also gives a promise in this chapter that we need to hang on to. Just like He promised after the flood during Noah’s day that he would “never again flood the earth”, He gives us a promise that we should cling to: “My love won’t walk away from you, my covenant commitment of peace won’t fall apart”. In other words, God is not going anywhere. He is committed to love us to the end. He has promised to never leave nor forsake us. We can take that to the bank. So we need to live victoriously and live large with Him. He wants to do amazing things in us and through us. We need to take Him at His word, think big and claim His promise of loving us til the end. God wants to make a difference in the world through you and me. Are you willing to go for it? Let’s get after it starting today!
