Isaiah 25 really puts things in perspective about who God is. Isaiah gives us some great ideas on how we need to approach our God:
- “you are my God”’ He makes it personal. God is a personal God. He is not just some great big force out there somewhere disconnected from my life. He is intimately involved in what happens each and every day and completely part of what happens.
- “I will celebrate you”. He lets people know that God is in his life. God wants us to share what He does with those in our circle of influence. He wants us to shout it from the mountaintops and let people know that He is the reason for all that we are and have.
- “I praise you”. He gives God His rightful place. God is worthy of our praise. In fact, it needs to be something we do daily and continually – to recognize and verbalize that God is who He says He is and worthy of our adoration. We need to be proactive in praising Him continually, not just when some big thing happens.
- “You’ve done your share of miracle-wonders”. He gives God credit where credit is due. God has always been in the miracle business and He certainly still is today. But too often we don’t give credit where it is due and we even go so far as to try and take credit for something that God has done. That is a bad plan.
I love how Isaiah says “superpowers will see it and honor you”. Can’t you imagine Spiderman and Superman and all the other superpowers down on their knees giving God the credit for all they do? Seems a little silly doesn’t it. But no matter who believes they are a superpower, in reality they really can do nothing without God. He alone is worthy of our praise. We have to keep things in right perspective. We need to spend time recognizing the God we serve, giving him praise and celebrating what He has and continues to do for us. He is the miracle worker of our lives. Let’s give Him the place He deserves each and every day, moment by moment.
