Isaiah 15 tells of the woes of Moab. Last chapter it was Babylon, this chapter Moab. Destruction is happening and things are being cleaned up and turned over. God is in control. I discover a town here bearning part of my name – the “village Ar”. Exciting til I read the rest of the verse “…is in ruins, destroyed in a night raid”. Ouch – my namesake gone. Makes me think about the enemy and his attacks. Am I fortified to deal with Satan’s desire to destroy me? He typically doesn’t come after us in the light, or where we expect it. He sneaks up under cover of darkness and attacks when and where we least expect it. He wants to leave “Ar” in ruins today too. His mission is the same as it was for the people of Moab – wipe out. We read of many towns and cities in this chapter that are gone – and those who survived scurrying around trying to find a new place to live. There is “gut wrenching sobs” and they are on the run. Know that the enemy has that plan for you today too. He wants you on the run, chased out of the safety of your life. He wants destruction for you. Are you ready to deal with him? Are your walls built and is your watch on high alert? He comes when you least expect it, so be ready. We can win if we do battle with God and His way. Don’t let the enemy rob you of God’s plan for your future.
